Solidarity at Wales vs USA Rugby League World Cup Match in Wrexham

11 vigil

Five of us gathered on Sunday morning 3 November outside the Racecourse ground in Wrexham to hold a vigil for Private Chelsea (formerly Bradley) Manning.

We set up along the pavement with some older banners as well as our brand new football-oriented one complete with Camus quote.

On Thursday, just before heading off to Liverpool to prepare for the benefit gig there, Razz performed the Beatle’s classic Help! outside the ground.

Back to Sunday, while Razz played the rest of us engaged with the rugby crowd, who were mostly Welsh and had natural sympathy for the plight of Manning’s family faced with years of costly prison visits to the imprisoned whistleblower.

We also handed out hundreds of flyers with basic information about the case and how to donate.

Can anyone tell me how to make a pay pal donation to the Manning Family Fund in American dollars?

I think that because our PayPal account is held in the UK, payments are made in GB pounds sterling. However, if you’re in the US, then your account will be debited the equivalent amount in US dollars. £1 GB is currently about $1.6 US. We have had payments via PayPal from US, France and Australia for instance, all in round figures in GB pounds (eg £5, £10). Hope that helps.
